De auteur handelt over het samenstellen van een gebruikersinstructie in een univer-
siteitsbibliotheek. Alvorens een programma uit te werken is het van belang duidelijk
de doelstellingen te formuleren, en dit in afspraak met studenten en academisch
personeel. Ook het uittesten van dit programma in de praktijk, alvorens op grote
schaal te worden toegepast, mag niet vergeten worden.

Het gebruik van diapositieven en geluidsband voor instructie of oriëntatie van de
gebruiker biedt enkele voordelen. Dit blijkt uit een enqüte gehouden bij 151 univer-
siteitsbibliotheken in de V.S. Nochtans mag niet uit het oog worden verloren dat de
samenstelling van dergelijke montage toch tamelijk duur blijft, veel tijd kost en de
hulp van gekwalificeerd personeel veronderstelt.
