Object description Zou geboren zijn in de 3de eeuw (?) te Catania of Palermo en overleden te Catania. feestdag 5 februari (gedachtenis) Haar levensverhaal is als volgt overgeleverd. Omdat zij als maagd en Christin wilde leven en een huwelijk weigerde, onderging zij diverse folteringen, o.a. haar borsten werden met een tang afgesneden. Toen verscheen St. Petrus aan haar en genas haar wonden. BRON Boek: De Heiligen Stijn van der Linden RECTO Veelkeurige (ingekleurde? ) prent AFBEELDING Als jong meisje in Romeinse kledij, zij is omgeven door rook (vuurdood), een engel met een palmtak in de hand (martelares). Voor haar ligt een nijp/marteltang. Twee Romeinse soldaten staan opzij (haar beulen). Bovenaan twee engelen, een doorboord hart en een vlammend hart. Linker zijkant: Sint Petrus Rechter zijkant heilige met zwaard (als symbool voor marteltuig) TEKST In bruine inkt gedrukt STE.
