Object description Bij deze kunstkast zijn de binnenzijde van de twee frontdeurtjes, het deksel van de kap en de laatjes en vakjes beschilderd met mythologische scènes naar composities van Rubens. De meeste daarvan zijn ontleend aan de Metamorfosen van de Romeinse dichter Ovidius (43 v.c.-17 n.C.). Uitgebeeld is onder meer de geschiedenis van de beroemde Griekse jagers Meleager en Atalante. Het schilderijtje in het deksel van het meubel toont de twee helden tijdens de jacht op het Calydonische everzwijn. Op het rechter frontdeurtje schenkt Meleager de kop van het everzwijn als jachttrofee aan Atalante nadat hij het dier had geveld. Het kabinet demonstreert duidelijk de grote aantrekkelijkheid van dit soort meubel: de koper verkreeg niet alleen een kast om zijn kostbaarheden in op te bergen, maar ook een miniatuurverzameling mythologische schilderijen naar de grote Rubens.

Consequently, the user can only reproduce the images for the agreed purpose and is not entitled to transfer the right of use to third parties, unless otherwise agreed. In addition, the user is not allowed to use images for internet applications in a resolution higher than 72 ppi and/or make the images available to third parties in a downloadable format. 2/ The right to respect and integrity enables Ans Brys to object to any modification or distortion of and/or damage to her work. The agreement gives Ans Brys the right to object to any use of her work if such use would harm her reputation and/or would conflict with her moral principles. The user will in no case create a link between the images and persons, organisations or political/religious beliefs in such a manner that Ans Brys and/or the persons or organisations depicted may be discredited. Any changes to the originally delivered images are regarded as violations of the right of use. Changes relating to croping, resolution, colour, bit depth, colour mode, grain, resolution, filters, disproportionate scaling, mirroring and retouching violate the right to respect and integrity of the work. 3/ In Belgium, copyright remains valid for a period of 70 years after the death of the author. After this period the work becomes part of the public domain. 4/ Any use of an image is inextricably linked to the mention of the copyright: Ans Brys underneath or next to the image, by means of a clear reference in the colophon or elsewhere. VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHT The user is informed of the fact that any unlawful use of images for which the right of use was purchased, whereby the above-mentioned legal conditions are not met, will inevitably lead to legal proceedings and that any costs incurred with respect to these legal proceedings will be recovered from the user. The user has full liability for any violation of the agreement. PROPERTY RIGHTS If the customer fails to meet his obligation to pay (in full) or fails to perform any other obligation, he is not allowed to make use of the images relating to the order, unless otherwise agreed. JURISDICTION The agreement is entirely governed by Belgian law. The courts of Antwerpen have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes arising between Ans Brys and the customer, which will be settled by a judge to be designated by Ans Brys or her legal successor. A registered letter from Ans Brys will suffice in this respect.
