Full text | EN ITALIE. 71 „paru ; ” ce n’est pas même une belle Milane: Trésor. momie. Le Trésor (*) de l’Eglise de Milan, est après celui de Notre-Dame de Lorette, le plus riche d'Italie, & peut-être, de toute l’Europe Catholique : on y remarque même des pièces qui réunissent au prix très-grand de la matière, le mérite d’un travail su- périeur. On y voit les Statues en argent ( de proportion plus haute que nature), de St. Ambroise & de St. Charles : Cettedernière est couverte de pierreries : toutes deux, du côté de l’art , ont peu de mérite. Plus de vingt Bustes colossaux aussi d’ar- gent, de divers faints & faintes. Nombre de Calices, Patènes, Encensoirs & Lampes simplement d’or, d'autres du même inétal damasquinés, émaillés & en¬ richis de diamans. Un grand Ciboire de cristal de roche, orné de moulures & ornemens d’or, émaillés & enrichis de diamans. Plusieurs Ostensoirs singulièrement riches & d’un beau travail. Une grande Croix de cérémonie, égale- ment ornée de pierres précieuses. (*) Celui de Lorette se montre gratis : On rançonne le plus que l’on peut les curieux pour celui-ci ; la vue de la châsse du Saint se paye séparé- ment : Ce sont deux différens Ecclésiastiques qui montrent l'un & l'autre, tous deux prisent le plus qu'ils peuvent leurs marchandises & les peines qu'ils se dounent pour les montrer. |
