From the multitude of online databases the compilers have selected 179
bibliographie databases likely to be of particular value to librarians an
information searchers dealing with day-to-day enquiry work. The databases
included are readily available and are in English or contain a substantial English-
language content. In total, the databases described offer access to nearly 80
million référencés. An outstanding feature of the Directory-section ofthis greatly-
expanded new édition is the inclusion of online print-samples for the databases
described - perhaps the largest collection of database samples ever publishe in
one volume. Each sample helps to illustrate spécifie database features (e.g. what
bibliographie data fields are present) and can be used in an instructional sense
either for self-test or for class tuition use. In a number of cases the original entry
as first published in the matching hard-copy abstracting journal is also
reproduced. „
