» §. Cacitia’s, a small Romanesque church of XII cent. with an
2q.psidal choir and a crypt atthe W: end; the building, which was
fn a very bad state, was partly rebuilt 1837-8; it was formerly a
vaesonvent church, but it now helongs to the Town hospital ; it com-
uemunicates with S. Peter’s by a covered passage. The tympanum of
sfihe N. door is carved in low relief with figures of SS. Cecily, Vale-
irian and Tiburtius. Here are also a- brass holy water-vat, XV
agsent., and a bell, the most anct. known, formed of 3 plates of
‘cgibaromered iron fastened together with nails; it is called the
+7 sAvranc and was blessed by S. Cunibert, XV Bp. of Cologne, c. 620.
+ In the Sacristy ave a finely embroidered Cha suble and Dalma-
)ibic, c. 1340. On N. of Church are some arcades of an old cloister

i The Chapel of S. Elisabeth, Antons-Gasse, is a small build-
ari ing and contains nothing of interest.
S. CoLumBa’s is a5 aisled Church which, with the exception of
ithe square W. Romanesque tower, was entirely rebuilt in the XV
écent ; there is no triforium ; the outer aisles are double : the
xeexterior is being restored. At W end of Nave, onrt. as you enter
adithe Church, is a square white marble basin of IX or X cent. which
eiis supposed to have served for the reception of first fruits. Tn the
ys9) Choir are % large brass candlesticks about 6 ft. high and 2 fune-
ing ral candlestands of iron, XV ceut.; and ona bracket against the
WN. pillar of the chancel arch a finely sculptured statue of the
B. V. and Child, which has been recently painted with, very good
jest taste under the direction of M. Fr. Bock : behind the Altar are
reg, carved stalls and a stone pedestal with statuettes of the B. V. and
2 4,8 Saints in nicbes. N. Chapel : Aumbrye for relics adorned
/ with 6 statuettes in niches. N. Aisle : A mural Brass, 1554 ; an
anct. Crucifix with 6 paintings of scenes from the Passion; a, cir-
cular font of brass, the base supported by 3 demi-figures of lions,
+ the stern adorned with 4 lions’ heads, and the basin with 4 shields;
on the top of the cover is a group repr. the Baptism of Christ; an
+ iron crane for removing the cover worked by a screw and lever,
end of XVI cent. S. Aisle: 2% funeral candlestands of iron and
io. on exterior a gable cross, XVI cent. Sacristy : Fine Tower
yi. Monstrance of silver gilt; the foot, sixfoiled, is engraved with
jgoe seated figures of saints; it is surmounted by a dome supported by
; © 2 flying buttresses. and adorned with statuettes of SS. Columba
) Catherine, Barbara and Margaret; 3 ft. high, c. 1420: — Tower
