Full text | Hieronder volgt een tabelletje van letters die in het Russisch alfabet zelf niet voorkomen en waaraan men de schriften van de overige volkeren, die een taal gebruiken die op het cyrillisch of op het Russisch alfabet gebaseerd is, kan herkennen. æaarFBh0è 'es G1IK3 33 RR ï i KKKU H tf Vf H> ö ö FT, Ç T yyyyÿYYxn u M H q Q «1 W a Sb De meeste (1) niet Russische cyrillische alfabetten onderscheiden zich van het Russisch doordat er letters in voorkomen die in het Russisch niet bestaan, of ook, doordat bepaalde letters die in het Russisch alfabet voorkomen, ontbreken (zie bovenstaande tabel). Wanneer men twijfelt kan men dus aan de hand van het schriftbeeld vaststellen of het om een publikatie in de Russische taal gaat of niet. In de praktijk zullen we echter niet op deze manier tewerk gaan. De plaats van uitgave speelt hier een grote rol. Bij publikaties waarvan de plaats van uitgave in de Sovjetunie ligt, moet men onderscheid maken tussen plaatsnamen die in het Russisch taalgebied liggen en plaatsnamen die in autonome gebieden of in helemaal niet-Russische republieken van de Sovjetunie liggen. In geval van twijfel kan de hieronderstaande tabel geraadpleegd worden ; u vindt daar de belangrijkste uitgave-plaatsnamen in het niet-Russisch taalgebied van de Sovjetunie, waar het cyrillisch schrift gebruikt wordt. 1 (1) Een uitzondering hierop vormt het Mordwinische alfabet dat volledig eruit ziet als het Russische.
