De aandoening ging over; de omarmingen eindigden en de mannen, zich trotsch, onversaagd in hunne volle lengte verheffende, deden eene beweging als of zij zich schuddeden, oin alle teergevoeligheid van zich af te werpen. Op post, mannen, op post! Binnen vijf minuten zijn de Hollanders onder ons schot. Op post en hun ontvangen onder den dubbelen kreet : Leve de vrijheid, leve de republiek!
