Full text I 5 Io I5 20 2e DE LUIAARDS. De luie lfen zijn blind : zij zien door taaie lichten Die opgaan evenals blaasbalken met gewichten Die ’t orgel spreken doen, Hun keers staat ongesnut. Hun zinnen wentelen in 't bed of in den dut, In 't bedde heen en weer als deuren op hun duimen. Zij lachen met het volk dat hoed of helm met pluimen « Haansteertelijk » versiert ; doô veeren liggen best En zijn der lenden over-overliev(e) nest. Zoo denken ze in hun hart.... 't Is wonder dat ’t zij denken En niet vreezen zich al denkende te krenken, Want denken is een last van zinnen en hun grouwt Van alle bezigheid, die hart of huid, verouwt. Denkt hoe hun ’t spreken lust, hoe ‘tstaan, en 't gaan ; te weten Dat is de wereld met een passer overmeten, Eens ploegers slavernij; maar koetsen, lieve vond, Gij zijt een zoet verzet : daar gaan de wielen rond; Daar zit mijn luie blind en ziet niet dat zijn leden De leden niet EN zijn wien deze hulp met rede(a) En zonder schaamte voegt, en dat er nevens gaan Wien ’t beter passen zou te zitten dan te staan, Dat kan luilekkernij. Zij blindt verstand en oogen En maakt zich meester beî van rede(n) en meedoogen; En 't is het slechtste slag van alle blindheid niet, Als iemand wat hij ziet, moedwillig niet En ziet. DE BABBELAARS. De kakelaars zijn blind : zij zien maar door hnn woorden (Ik weet niet hoe gij vaart!) waarmee zij mij vermoorden. Zij zien maar door hun galm, niet waar noch wat noch wien Zij snorren U om 't hoofd gelijk de hommelbie; ?
